Charter-Yankee Pearl: F/V Patriot

  • Yankee Fleet 1 Parker Street Gloucester, MA, 01930 United States (map)

The wreck of the F/V Patriot lies in the Stellwagen Bank Marine Sanctuary. The Patriot was a 62ft steel-hulled western rig dragger that sank on January 3 2009 with the loss of her two crew members. Today she sits in approximately 100ft of water in Stellwagen Bank off the coast of Massachusetts. A variety of marine life can be seen here. Keep your eyes open for bluefin tuna, blue or basking sharks and mola mola sunfish. Some divers have reported seeing humpback, mink and fin whales, but there are strict regulations against diving when whales are present. Your captain will provide you with guidance in the event whales are present at the time of the dive. Currents at the surface and bottom can be strong and there are some rules when diving this wreck. You may not remove any object from the wreck because it is considered a historic resource. **

Seconn does not rent or provide equipment for this dive. Please make sure you bring everything you will need including 2 tanks and weights. You must have an Advanced Open Water certification to complete this dive. Please plan to arrive to the dock at noon to load for a 1:00 departure. (Give yourself plenty of time for the commute. Traffic to Cape Ann can be heavy.)

Gratuities are not included in the price of the charter. Please tip to the crew directly the day of your trip. Happy Sailing!

**Note: The captain has the right to change locations pending conditions the day of your dive.
