The Dry Salvages is located outside Rockport, MA, a mile east of Avery’s Ledge. (On a clear day, you can see the site from Back and Front Beaches.) The popular site hosts a colony of seals with potential for encounters! The site is exposed to the open Atlantic Ocean and can be awash with shifting winds and currents, but can offer shallow water for newer divers. It may be helpful to run a line from the mooring/anchor line. The best way to see seals is to stay still once you find a comfortable spot. They are curious and will come to you if you are patient. If you are prone to motion sickness, it can get sporty around the rocks, so be prepared for a potentially bouncy sit time between dives.**

Seconn does not rent or provide equipment for this dive. Please make sure you bring everything you will need including 2 tanks and weights. You must have an Advanced Open Water certification to complete this dive. Please plan to arrive to the dock at noon to load for a 1:00 departure. (Give yourself plenty of time for the commute. Traffic to Cape Ann can be heavy.)
