Join us on the second Tuesday of every month when we hold our General Meeting. Featuring a presentation from a member or invited guest, each meeting is a unique look into the different aspects of the underwater world. Open to all, join us early to grab dinner, or swing by for 7:30pm to hear the presentation. We’d love for you to join!
New England and the Northwest Passage
The opening of the Northwest Passage, not only has direct consequences around the world, but here in New England as well. The rapid warming of the Arctic has modified ocean circulation and regional climate patterns and has opened opportunities for new shipping routes. The ice-free passage has affected everything from trade and transportation, coastal environments, infrastructure, culture, fisheries and wildlife, and energy resources. Join Captain Breezy Grenier, FRGS, as she shares her experiences in the High Arctic, and how we can prepare for the uncertain yet inevitable environmental and economic impacts of Arctic and ocean change here in New England.
